I Adore Love.

So I often get requests from people wanting to see my wedding pictures. It was in a few magazines but if you didn’t get a chance to see it, I’ve put a little sampler below. It was just the best day, but it was also heaps of fun preparing for the big day too. DIY is so much fun and can really put your own individual stamp on your special day – after all, it is your love that is being celebrated. We just had so much fun making and creating – maybe I should plan weddings full-time? The biggest thanks to Karina Jade Photography for capturing the day so beautifully – perfect memories!

  4. Hey Soph,
    I really love you’re style, it’s amazing!
I was wondering how your hair was done? like if you know? haha, I have my leavers dinner coming up at the end of the year and I’d love to do something with my hair like yours!
Gorgeous wedding btw, absolutely perfect! xo

    • I don’t actually know. Haha. A great hairdresser friend of mine did it for me. She called it a 5-strand braid. I don’t know if that helps, but I hope so. Good luck for your leavers dinner – I’m sure it will be fabulous x

      • haha, thanks a million Sophie :D
Feel all super duper fuzzy like a movie star has replied to me or something :p x

    • They were taken where our reception was held. It’s called bells estate (in bellbrae near torquay). They didn’t do weddings before we asked, we just loved the landscape – outdoor receptions are always so beautiful x

  5. Love the pictures (I’ll admit I had already searched them on Facebook..). Just wondering about your shoes. Which brand?! Thanks! :-)

    • We had a photobooth and candy bar. I bought little brown paper candy bags and printed a design on them. I pegged a tag to the bag with the guest’s name on it so that the guests could peg their photobooth pics to their full bag of lollies and take it home in a nice little package x

  6. Hey Sophie…that is a really cool idea! I am getting married in May next year and am doing a photobooth and candy bar. I love doing DIY things but they don’t ever seem to turn out right…did you do your own invitations and placecards? I want to try and do asany things as I can myself so it is a bit personalized…your wedding day looked amazing btw!!!

    • Yeah I did the placecards, invitations, envelopes, cupcake toppers & wrappers, menus, ceremony programs, wine labels, signs, just about everything I could do. Plenty of my stuff didn’t work out the first time, there was a lot of trial and error (a lot of trying to stuff things through the printer haha) but eventually they would work out – just stick to it. Lots of fun x

  7. Love Love Love you and Dale! Soph you are super unique, stylish, quirky and so fab and amazing. Loved you on the block, and hope to see you back on the All Stars, I voted for you. Enjoying your post so keep them coming and Thank You for being you and dont ever change that, the world needs more Sophie’s. I think your my new girl crush xo

  8. Hey Sophie u look gorgeous!! Please tell me any advice for redoing my room in your style??? I’m 13 and want ideas. I’m going for a mature quirky. But. Classic look! Like you. Thx xx

  9. hey guys, gorgeous pics! im a g-town girl myself soph, just wondering where you guys did the ceremony and if you can recommend a celebrant? there are so many to choose from, im lost!

    • Hi Andrea, we got married in my childhood church, so I can’t help you on the celebrant front. But our reception was outdoors at bells estate (in bellbrae near torquay). It’s a beautiful landscape with cottages on it and beautiful walking tracks. It would be lovely for a ceremony too as it has a dam with a small jetty that would be cute to exchange vows on. But it’s up to you, anything will be perfect really – it’s amazing how on the day some things don’t really bother you so much xx

  10. I think it would be well worth putting a company together that puts together vintage weddings specifically. I think they are so popular these days because they are so personal. You could also have a shop full of vintage things people can use at their weddings if they want to DIY it themselves. Plus homewares for something fun :) and maybe a cute cafe combined hehe. That’s what I would love to do If I was in your position. Love your style miss :)

  12. Hi Sophie,

Your wedding is just beautiful! I love the theme! I want the cheapest wedding but to still make it look elegant and chic. You pulled it off so well!!

Question… where did you and dale get the bird art you used on the block i think in the main bedroom? Its amazing!

    Thanks,
    Beccy

    • Hi Beccy, thanks for your comment. Good luck with your wedding. The bird art was from adairs but I doubt it’s still in stores. Maybe give them a call though and they might have some tucked away in a warehouse somewhere. Worth a call… x

  13. Hi Sophie! Absolutely loving your blog! You and Dale are fantastic! Just would love to know, where did you source your mismatched china from? Was it just various vintage shops? Or full sets? I’m trying to put together a set and really don’t know where to start. Thanks heaps! x

    • Hi Meredith, yeah just hit up op-shops, markets etc. I needed 110 sets that included a dinner plate, bread plate and tea cup. Some designs I bought in sets of 4-6 and then just mixed them up so it only looked like I had one of each. But you can generally buy them separately, or you can buy them cheaply in sets and just disregard the pieces you don’t need. Good Luck xx

  14. Hi Sophie

I saw you and Dale on the block and just loved the two of you and your style. Was sitting at the doctors or somewhere the other day and saw your wedding photos in a magazine, just gorgeous! You have such a knack with your vintage styling. You should definately get into wedding styling or vintage styling.. or maybe even a book? Are you thinking of doing anything like that? Marnie :)

    • Hi Marnie, such kind words – thank you. I have definitely thought about wedding styling because I just love romance and pretty things, but then I think of how much I would miss the kids if it was a full time career (maybe a side thing?). And a book is definitely in the back of my mind – so watch this space I guess – who knows what I’ll come up with… x

  15. Hi Sophie, your amazeballs!
I was just wondering where those little clutch bags are from and if you gave them to you maids as gifts?? What did you give them with the bags and what did Dale give his boys? :D

    • Hi Claire, I just ordered the clutches on etsy. I liked those ones particularly because the sellers sews a name on the inside if you want it. So I got MRS VINE written in mine with the wedding date and all my bridesmaids had their first names. They also do a cute baby sized one that I gave my flowergirl. I liked that each one was made of different fabric. Dale gave his boys this certain type of boutique caramel whiskey (there’s a shop at chadstone that specialises in this) with a set of glasses (to fit the vintage theme) – they seemed happy about it haha. I hope that helps xx

  16. Just beautiful! I’m currently planning my wedding and want to make as much as I can to keep the price down ;) and I love the vintage style!! Any tips you can give? And also did you organise someone to take photos for your photobooth? We are looking at doing that too! Great way to get a photo of everyone :) xxx
